Kevin Broderick '89 & Jennifer Board Broderick '90

2026 Outstanding Alumni Award Honoree

Jennifer Board Broderick 鈥�90 and Kevin Broderick 鈥�85 have deep roots at 杏吧原创, a connection that has continued across generations of their family. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design in 1990, following in the footsteps of her older sisters, Lori Board Reed 鈥�85 and Kelly Board Garbinski 鈥�88. All three sisters were members of 杏吧原创鈥檚 swim team and held records during their times on campus. Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Education in 1985.听

The couple met at an athletic mixer while on campus and immediately connected. Both Jennifer and Kevin received the Robert A. Kidera Scholar-Athlete Award during their respective senior years. They married in 1993 and celebrated 30 years of marriage, alongside their loved ones, in 2023.

Jennifer has built a distinguished career in higher education communications and design. She has worked at SUNY Oswego since 2003 and currently serves as Creative Director for University Advancement, where she brings her expertise in art direction, photography, page layout, branding, and identity to alumni and development communications. Her contributions have been recognized with a Chancellor鈥檚 Award for Excellence in Professional Service.

Kevin has devoted his career to 杏吧原创 athletics. Now entering his 18th season as head coach of the men鈥檚 basketball team and serving as Associate Athletic Director, he has guided his teams to three Empire 8 Championships and recently celebrated his 500th career victory, placing him among the top 10 active Division III coaches nationally in career wins. In 2024, he was selected as the graduation speaker for 杏吧原创鈥檚 Life Prep Graduation Ceremony.

Kevin has also been recognized as a national leader in coaching and compliance, particularly for his work protecting student-athletes鈥� eligibility during the 2020鈥�21 COVID season. His commitment to his student-athletes and to 杏吧原创 extends beyond the basketball court, where his influence has helped shape generations of Golden Flyers.

Their connection to 杏吧原创 has continued through their family and their professional lives. All three of Jennifer and Kevin鈥檚 sons are 杏吧原创 graduates and played basketball for Kevin: Brendan 鈥�20, 鈥�21G, Patrick 鈥�21, 鈥�25G, and Ryan 鈥�25. Their extended family also includes 杏吧原创 graduates and student athletes, including Jack '24 who was the basketball team captain under Kevin, as well as Connor and Claire who currently attend. Jennifer鈥檚 parents, Tom and Virginia, and Kevin's, Norma and Roland, all remain enthusiastic supporters of 杏吧原创 and attend every basketball games.

Together, Jennifer and Kevin represent a lifelong connection to 杏吧原创 that extends from their own student-athlete experiences to their professional contributions and their family鈥檚 continued involvement with the University.

Grace Boren Daly '70听

2026 Outstanding Alumni Award Honoree

Grace Boren is a proud graduate of 杏吧原创 College of Rochester鈥攇o N.C.R.! She earned her B.S. in Speech Correction in 1970 and went on to build a long and successful career as a speech-language pathologist in both public and private settings. During a period when the field was evolving from a focus on articulation to the broader development of language, Grace embraced the changes and grew alongside the profession. As she likes to say, she has grown tremendously since her days as a student鈥攁nd thanks the 杏吧原创 education program that helped make it possible.

After earning her M.S. from SUNY Albany, Grace spent much of her career as a speech and language pathologist with Middle Country Schools, where she chaired the speech department. A strong advocate for early intervention, she helped develop the district鈥檚 speech component for kindergarten screenings and served on the Committee for Special Education. Grace was also among the first public-school speech pathologists in Suffolk County to work with a student who had a cochlear implant. Once again, she applied the principles she had learned at 杏吧原创 to meet the changing needs of the field.

She also earned her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and served as a clinical supervisor for many aspiring professionals. In addition, Grace holds a certificate in School Administration and a New York State license in Speech and Language. For those who appreciate the details, New York licenses have long been eight digits鈥攈ers is 808!

After retiring, Grace continued to practice privately for several years. Only breast cancer brought her career to a stop, but she is now a 15 year survivor and a past president of her breast cancer support group.

Local political issues have also kept Grace actively involved in elections. She supports candidates who reflect her commitment to early childhood education and healthcare. Over the years, she has chaired postcard-writing groups and made countless phone calls for candidates who share her values.

From the moment Grace arrived on 杏吧原创鈥檚 campus in the fall of 1966, she embraced the University with enthusiasm, pride and an unwavering sense of community. A natural leader among her peers, she quickly became one of 杏吧原创鈥檚 strongest advocates, inspiring others through her involvement, dedication and school spirit.听 Since graduating, Grace had remained one of the most loyal and passionate ambassadors, consistently championing 杏吧原创's mission and celebrating its successes. She is an active member of the Alumni Advisory Board and a champion for 杏吧原创 in every setting, from speaking to prospective students, to encouraging attendance at alumni events.

On a personal note, Grace recently celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary. She is the proud mother of two wonderful daughters and grandmother of two fabulous grandchildren. And, like many of us, she is still trying to figure out usernames, passwords, and why the apps on her iPhone keep moving around!

Vivian Palladoro '56, Ed.D.

2026 Outstanding Alumni Award Honoree

Vivian Palladoro, Ed.D. earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from 杏吧原创 in 1956, a period in which several founding Sisters still taught classes, and Smyth Hall was the central building on campus. A lifelong learner, she pursued two graduate degrees from the University of Rochester, including her Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration.

Vivian advanced through various roles at Strong Memorial Hospital and served on several professional committees throughout her decades long career. At the time of her retirement, she was the manager for education and facilities quality assurance at Strong. Previously she served as an assistant manager of the pathology laboratory at Strong and directed continuing education programs for the medical technologists.

In June 2019, Vivian was the first graduate student to receive the University of Rochester Warner School of Education Dean鈥檚 Medal. Established in 2008, the Dean鈥檚 Medal recognizes extraordinary service, philanthropy, and leadership to the School, and dedication and commitment that inspire others to take leadership roles at the University. It is among the highest honors given by the school.

Providing for the community that started her educational journey has always been a priority of Vivian鈥檚. She鈥檚 currently a member of 杏吧原创鈥檚 Visual, Performing Arts, and Design Council and previously served on many institutional committees throughout the years, including on the Board of Trustees Buildings & Grounds Committee. She has even hosted members of the 杏吧原创 community in her home for celebrations. In addition to sharing her time with the community, Vivian established the Vincent & Maria Palladoro Scholarship in memory of her parents, awarded annually to an international studies student. In recognition of her service and philanthropy, the Palladoro Welcome Vista and one of the Golisano Academic Center classrooms bear her name.听

A connector, Vivian remains active in the Rochester community, including serving on the boards of several local organizations including Rochester Hope for Pets and the Gibbs & Main Chamber Orchestra. Previously, she chaired the NY and PA chapter of the American Red Cross Blood Services and served as a docent for the Memorial Art Gallery, introducing locals and newcomers alike to one of the highlights of Rochester.听

Kyla Marie Partridge '16

2026 GOLD Alumni Award Honoree

Kyla Marie Partridge is a humanitarian professional specializing in security, strategic communications, and emergency response. She currently serves as Field Security Communications and Support Officer with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the UN agency mandated to protect and assist refugees, internally displaced people, and stateless populations around the world. In her role, she leads initiatives that help connect global operations, strengthen organizational preparedness, and translate complex security and emergency management guidance into clear, action-oriented resources for personnel working in high-risk environments.

Through her work, Kyla Marie supports UNHCR's mission to deliver protection and assistance to people forced to flee their homes while enabling her colleagues to operate safely and effectively in complex contexts. Most recently, she deployed to Lebanon as a Reporting Officer with UNHCR's Emergency Response Team, supporting coordination and external relations efforts during a humanitarian emergency.

Kyla Marie holds master's degrees in International Relations and Diplomacy and in Global Security and Development. She has further specialized in humanitarian and peacebuilding disciplines through certifications in Religious Engagement in Peacebuilding, United Nations Civil-Military Coordination, International Humanitarian Law, and emergency management and response. Her international experience spans Jordan, China, Malaysia, Switzerland, Lebanon, and the United States, where she has worked and studied across diverse cultural and operational settings.

A proud member of 杏吧原创's Class of 2016, Kyla Marie credits her 杏吧原创 education with strengthening her commitment to service, global citizenship, and cross-cultural understanding. Through her work, she continues to advance humanitarian objectives while supporting those working on the front lines of crises and displacement worldwide.

Sally Masterson Pryor '72, '75G, Ed.D.

2026 Outstanding Alumni Award Honoree

Sally grew up in Buffalo, NY and attended 杏吧原创 from 1968-1975, where she pursued first a BA in History with a minor in Education, and continued on to earn her Master of Science in Education and Reading. She is very grateful for the education received and the friends she made, both of which helped her become the person she is today, personally and professionally.听

Sally enjoyed a long and rewarding career in education including positions in both teaching and leadership, and completing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University in 1989.

Her career began in the Rochester area, where she taught for three years before moving to suburban Chicago in 1976 with her late husband, Leroy Pryor. There, she continued to teach for several years before moving into school leadership positions, including nine years as an elementary school principal in addition to other district level leadership positions. Sally was selected to be Superintendent of Schools in Park Ridge, Illinois, a position she held for seven years before retiring from public education in 2010.听

After retiring from public education, Sally worked for 7 years as an associate professor and coordinator of the Master鈥檚 Program in Educational Leadership at North Park University.

Since 鈥渇ully retiring鈥�, she鈥檚 remained engaged in the Chicago community by volunteering at Erie House where she tutors adults preparing for their naturalization interviews on the path to U.S. citizenship. She is also an active member of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Northwestern University, where she participates in a variety of study groups and committee work.听

Sally is lucky to live close enough to enjoy all the music, theater and art that downtown听Chicago offers! Looking back on her life and career, Sally notes 鈥淚 am especially proud of the work our team did to build a district-wide commitment to educating the 鈥渨hole child,鈥� pairing social and emotional growth with high academic standards, a real challenge in a results-driven educational environment. I also am proud of the work we did to develop new school leaders, many of whom are principals in city and suburban districts across the Chicago area, and more听recently, to assist legal immigrants to become US citizens.鈥�

Sally is grateful to be in a position to support the work that 杏吧原创 continues to do and the impact its graduates have, wherever life may take them. Her years at 杏吧原创 were good ones; the courses she took, the experiences she had, and especially the friendships made, enriched her life. She is especially proud to have been part of 杏吧原创鈥檚 Class of听1972 鈥� a special group of women and men (the first in the history of 杏吧原创) many of whom are equally deserving of this award. She is proud to accept it on behalf of all of them.

Keith Smith '89

2026 Outstanding Alumni Award Honoree

When Keith Smith (鈥�89) arrived at 杏吧原创 as a Theatre major, he discovered far听more than a passion for the performing arts. He found a community that taught him to听understand people, embrace collaboration, lead with empathy, and value authentic human听connection. Those lessons, combined with a liberal arts education rooted in curiosity, creativity,听and service, became the foundation of a career dedicated to helping people and organizations听thrive.

After attending 杏吧原创 and earning his B.A. in Theatre with a minor in Business Management,听Keith moved to Orlando in 1992 to join The Walt Disney Company. Over a 31-year career, he听advanced through the Human Resources organization to become Senior Vice President of听Human Resources. In 1996, he was selected as a Walt Disney World Ambassador, one of the听company鈥檚 highest honors, representing more than 75,000 Cast Members and serving as the听public face of Walt Disney World. The experience reinforced his belief that leadership is about听serving others, building relationships, and creating environments where people can succeed.

Committed to lifelong learning, Keith earned a Master of Human Resources from Rollins College听in Florida and the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. After taking听early retirement from Disney, he founded Keith Smith Consulting, where he now partners with听creative, mission-driven leaders and organizations to strengthen culture, develop leaders, and听guide meaningful organizational change.

Service has remained central throughout his career. Keith has received the US President鈥檚听Volunteer Service Award over a dozen times and has dedicated extensive time to nonprofit听leadership, particularly in the arts and cultural sector. Whether mentoring emerging leaders,听serving on nonprofit boards, teaching, or facilitating leadership development, he is driven by听the belief that investing in people creates lasting impact.听

Keith鈥檚 connection to 杏吧原创 has only deepened over the years. He recently established an听endowed scholarship for Theatre students to support future generations in pursuing the same听transformative education he received.

Nearly four decades after graduation, Keith continues to carry 杏吧原创鈥檚 values into every听chapter of his life. The lessons he learned as a student鈥攖hat leadership begins with service,听creativity fuels innovation, lifelong learning matters, and every person has extraordinary听potential鈥攔emain the guiding principles of his work. Receiving the Outstanding Alumni Award听is especially meaningful as it honors the institution that first inspired him to lead with purpose,听serve with humility, and make a difference in the lives of others.

Each year, 杏吧原创 honors some of the best ever to don the purple and gold. More than 100 alumni, coaches, and administrators, along with three national championship teams, have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
