I just want to keep anonymous, and I'm going to be mostly writing about secondary (high school) years. I love this school and I think the syllabus is more laid back than the syllabus back at my home country in some part of Asia that is not in the gulf, since the current curriculum is from Cambridge, it's more objective-focused for your future. They have a no phone policy and a morning and afternoon registration. They don't have Music class in secondary years. For the Arts, it is available in secondary years. It follows the IGCSE syllabus, so you basically have to make lots of A3 paper projects called preps as a part of the requirements. Smaller art projects are also included in that! So, it makes focusing on other, more crucial subjects difficult when you have Art projects that need to be done. Also, Cambridge grades the preps very strictly, so it is quite difficult to get A*s... There won't be Art in year 12, unlike in other schools, just so you know. For languages, I took French as a foreign language. Arabic is mandatory for all Muslims who hold Arab passports or just Arab passport holders. There are Arabic foreign language and Arabic first language; I think Arab passport holders are required to take the 1st language one. For English, there are English 2nd and English 1st language subjects for you to choose from. Islamic studies are also a requirement for some. For other subjects such as maths and sciences, there are a plentiful amount of online textbooks, resources, physical handouts, and physically given textbooks and workbooks for experiments in the Science dep. that are provided. The teachers are also very willing to help... But the fault is on my side since I have always been too ashamed to ask questions, and I procrastinate a lot. I guess that's why I got a barely passing grade for Maths Extended, lol (skill issue, TWT). There is Maths Core (the simpler one) and Maths Extended (the more extensive one). Sports is alright, never liked it though. They had fitness checks, badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, and that's about it. Then, there are the facilities. The football field is big, there are playgrounds and a pool for only primary students to use during break and P.E. There are some janitors who clean up the classrooms and hallways after the students. So, overall, the campus is kept pretty clean! Some of the classrooms are also laboratories in the science dep., so there is no singular lab room, and laptops are given out for learning in secondary years; however, there are computer rooms that also function as classrooms. Some counselors help with behavioral things, and others help with what subjects to take in year 10, 11, and 12 (and 13?) and with uni stuff. Lastly, there is the behavior of the students. There are occasional fights and occasional vapers; rebellious students are really just unavoidable. The school is trying to make it better, though.
This school is one of the worst schools in Qatar, and trust me, I know a lot about many schools here and I鈥檝e got to say this is at the bottom of the list. First off, the school lies about having British staff when you can barely find any British teachers here. 85% of them are Lebanese who don鈥檛 understand anything about education and teaching. They only put YouTube videos, go through presentation slides for 3 minutes and call that teaching. They tell the kids to teach themselves. Kids leave the school without learning anything new. It is disgusting they take 40,000 QR per year when the school doesn鈥檛 even do its job! I will definitely be removing my child from this school this year and taking them to another school. If you want a REAL, BRITISH school, don鈥檛 take your kids here!! Take them to a public school instead. At least you鈥檙e not paying 40,000 and your kids don鈥檛 even learn anything!!!! This school should be closed.

I used to go to this school when i was younger, about 6 years ago before i moved to America:( I loved and missed my teachers and friends. I did get picked on a bit but that didn鈥檛 bother me at the time. Hopefully that has changed now! It鈥檚 a good school for education though! I know it has been a while but I can still remember. They teach English and Arabic so it can help for the future if you do move to America. Thanks for all the memories I made when I was little, I was truly happy.

I have worked at this school for a half a year but had to return due to personal reasons. However, I can 100% recommend this school for any teacher looking to work in Qatar. The SLT (admin) are amazing, understanding and helpful. In particular Mr Jaco. He provided support throughout my time there. Also Mr Darren provided quite a lot of support a person that was willing to listen and have a conversation a morale booster for sure. The science team were fantastic our Head of Department Ms Shejila ran an efficient team and was always available to answer questions. Watch out for Mr Lawrence the physics teacher you will instantly fall in love with his warm, kind and caring personality. Very helpful in providing support and material for physics I will have to mention Ms Rekha an asset to the team. Very highly organized and kept informing me of key dates to watch out for and an amazing teacher to be working alongside with in terms of planning of chemistry. Finally, I would like to mention the Science Technicians Ms Lina and Ms Khescen. I ordered a lot of practical equipment during the last week of the January mid term and they delivered everything and laid everything out in an amazing way. They also collected on time. The practical activities would have been impossible without them. In short EMS is true to its strap line "a place where we belong" I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wishes to work there. All of the science team and the teacher beyond the science team were welcoming. The students, in my experience were very well behaved and studios very keen to learn as well as being polite. They will be missed.

Arrogant and biased staff. They care only about Qatari students. I do not recommend this school at all. The teachers from asian origins afraid from Qatari students which affect other students. Discrimination at its best!!!
